Sendratari Mahakarya Borobudur was held at Borobudur three times a year. I was lucky to enjoy this show while having a holiday in Jogjakarta sometime in July 2008. The show was divided into 4 acts where each acts represents the history of Borobudur.
The dance started with girls in their traditional villagers costume.
2. It was told that Java was once ruled by King Samaratungga(played by the guy at the back) and the completed the construction of temple Borobudur.
3. The king reign control of Java.
4. Peace was torn apart when the evil spirits attacks.
5. Evil spirits brings havoc.
6. Help was called and the king comes to the rescue.
7. The king fought the evil spirits in a fierce battle.
8. Peace restored and the construction of temple Borobudur completed.
